Man 'ordered can of Coke from the dark web' but is just left with more questions

The dark web, also known as the darknet, is famous for selling things you wouldn’t find in a conventional marketplace. But a TikTok user was caught off-guard when he allegedly “ordered a can of Coke from the dark web”.

TikTok user Red Mask first posted the viral video in September 2023 and reshared it a few months ago owing to its popularity. However, there’s no proof that the man bought the item from the dark web.

Man claims he ‘ordered a can of Coke from the dark web’

In one of his videos from 2023, Red Mask unboxes a can of cake he allegedly bought on the dark web. But, he doesn’t share any further details about the supposed purchase.

The TikTok account is full of videos depicting the unboxing of things he claims he bought from the dark web and he never reveals his face as he covers it with a black mask.

The clip begins with him tearing the brown bag apart to remove a can of coke tightly packed in a bubble wrap.

The can of Coke looks normal at first. It imitates the original product with a red body and the logo in white. Nothing seems suspicious about it as the lid is intact, just like any new can of Coke you would find at the store.

Red Mask has unboxed several items he claims he “bought on the dark web”. You can find videos on McDonald’s milkshakes, Monster drinks, and even an iPhone.

As convincing as each product looks, there is no proof that they were bought on the dark web. So, it isn’t known if the videos have any truth.

What he found inside the item ‘from the dark web’

Before opening up the Coke, Red Mask tells his followers that he finds something about it “suspicious”. Perhaps it was the weight of the can because you wouldn’t have guessed in your wildest dreams what was in it.

When he finally opens the lid and points it at the camera, all you can see is a yellow substance and not the actual soda. He says, “It doesn’t smell like a can of Coke.”

When he empties the contents of the can into a bowl, you realize it’s baked beans in sauce. The TikTok user seems confused because he least expected what he found.

He concludes his video by saying: “It doesn’t smell good at all.” Meanwhile, users have been convinced the can of Coke isn’t real and Red Mask was only pulling a prank on them. Furthermore, the caption on the video has the “#prank” – all the more reason to believe it isn’t true.

“I laughed WAY TOO HARD at this OMG,” said one, when another user added: “You can tell from the bottom it’s not a can of pop either right away.” Implying that the Coke isn’t real, one user commented: “That can doesn’t have an expiration date.”
