Michigan State transfer DeeDee Hagemann will no longer be attending Ole Miss, her agent, Thomas Jones, told On3.
Hagemann, a 5-foot-7 point guard, averaged 12.3 points and a team-high 5.2 assists as a junior last season while shooting nearly 52% from the field and 41% from deep. Hagemann originally committed to the Ole Miss Rebels in April but has since reopened her recruitment and remains in the transfer portal actively seeking a new destination.
Jones said Hagemann has been in talks with about 10 schools in all four power conferences and is planning visits for the next few weeks.
Hagemann will now be one of the top remaining players in the transfer portal. Hagemann noted a few specifics she was originally looking for in a transfer destination, including a bond with her head coach, a highly competitive environment and personnel who will push her every day.
“I’m a real flashy guard,” Hagemann said of her game. “I like to make the flashy passes. I’m a pass-first guard, but I can get a bucket.”
Hagemann earned second-team All-Big Ten honors last season after aiding the Spartans to a 22-9 record and a fourth-place finish in the Big Ten. Hagemann has been a starting point guard for each of her three collegiate seasons and started in all 30 games of her junior season. She led the Big Ten in assists/turnover ratio (2.84) and ranked seventh in the Big Ten in assists. Hagemann is the highest-scoring high-major player currently in the transfer portal.
She originally entered the transfer portal on March 29 and committed to the Rebels on April 13. Hagemann was the No. 23-ranked recruit in the class of 2021 and is originally from Mount Clemens, Michigan. Next season will be her final year of eligibility.
Additionally, Hagemann signed with the Global Pipeline Agency for NIL representation on Thursday.
Ole Miss has landed transfers Christeen Iwuala (UCLA), Tameiya Sadler (Colorado) and Starr Jacobs (Arkansas Pine-Bluff) this offseason.
