For the first time this year, the festival will host a series of celebrity guests from the screen, including voice actors and stunt performers.

Medway-born Viking Valhalla star Julian Seagar, Lara Croft voice artist Shelley Bond, Star Wars actor Mike Quinn and Chris Bunn, who has appeared as a background performer in films such as James Bond and Superman, are all set to appear over the weekend.

Visitors will be able to meet the stars and ask them to sign memorabilia before exploring the rest of the festival.

There will be high-end tech with VR experiences, e-sports battles and experts explaining the latest innovations in gaming hardware.

But, for those who remember the good old days of Pac-Man and Atari, there will be retro gaming stations and an exhibition taking crowds through the history of video games.

You can even get hands-on with tabletop games, nerf tournaments, axe throwing and life-sized Dungeons and Dragons where you can set off on an adventure through real scenery and immersive soundscapes.

This isn’t the only chance for gamers to see characters from their favourite franchises as the festival welcomes cosplayers to join in the fun over the two days.

The cosplay masquerade on Saturday will see people dressed in intricate costumes come up on stage and perform in character to win prizes, while those who are new to the hobby can meet like-minded enthusiasts and learn how to start crafting their costumes in the Cosplay Village.

There will also be food and drink stalls, collectable items for sale, panel discussions, live music, flight simulators and more across the weekend.

The Medway Gaming Festival takes place on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16 at the Historic Dockyard Chatham. You can book tickets online here.

Adult tickets start from £24, under 3s go free.
