Arsenal fans are all saying the same thing after Aaron Ramsdale’s England display

Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale has become the talk of the town following England’s defeat to Iceland at Wembley.

The Three Lions played their final game before the Euros on Friday night, and almost everyone expected it to be a comfortable evening. Sadly, things didn’t go to plan.

Ramsdale started the game in goal ahead of Jordan Pickford, with Arsenal teammate Declan Rice getting the nod in midfield. Bukayo Saka came off the bench in the second half.

Aaron Ramsdale makes mistake in goal for England vs Iceland

Ramsdale just hasn’t been the same since Mikel Arteta dropped him for David Raya in September 2023.

The Englishman appears to have lost all his confidence and no longer looks like the amazing player he once was.

Gareth Southgate decided to give Ramsdale an opportunity at Wembley on Friday, and every Arsenal fan was rooting for the goalkeeper to do well.

However, it took just 12 minutes for Iceland to score the opener.

Jón Dagur Þorsteinsson was allowed all the space and time in the world to get into the box and get his shot away. Ramsdale was too slow to react and the ball flew past him into the back of the net.

The Arsenal goalkeeper will be the first one to admit that he should’ve done better, but his teammates in front of him didn’t do him any favours.

Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo and Manchester City star John Stones should’ve stopped Þorsteinsson, but their mistakes led to the one Ramsdale made in goal.

As you would expect, the Englishman has come under immense criticism since, but Arsenal fans aren’t too bothered about his performance – they’re worried about something else.

Arsenal fans react to Ramsdale’s performance

Ramsdale is expected to leave Arsenal this summer.

The former Sheffield United man has fallen behind Raya in the pecking order, and it doesn’t look like there’s any way back for him at the Emirates.

All signs points towards the exit door for Ramsdale, but following his latest mistake in goal, Arsenal fans are all worried it will impact his transfer fee.

Gooners took to X during and after England’s defeat and expressed their concerns over Ramsdale’s value dropping just before Arsenal try to sell him.

“Genuinely convinced that Ramsdale loses £2m of his transfer value with every goal conceded,” one fan wrote on X.

“Ramsdale we need you to increase that transfer value not drive it down buddy,” tweeted another.
