The journalist added that the future of current star Luis Diaz is up in the air, despite the Colombian having shone since joining the Reds.

The Spanish giants splashed a huge £55million to snap up the Brazilian from Leeds United in the summer of 2022.

Diaz meanwhile also has question marks over him, with James Pearce claiming he could be sold if an offer of more than £50million arrives.

Liverpool have an easy Luis Diaz decision amid Barcelona links

Both 27 and capable of operating on either wing, there are certain similarities between Diaz and Raphinha, with both somewhat lacking in discipline at times.

The pair are also perhaps perplexed at the speculation surrounding their futures, with the duo not exactly struggling at their current clubs, with Gary Neville once labelling Diaz as ‘absolutely amazing’.

That said, there is definitely room for improvement from the wingers, but it remains to be seen where exactly they will try and achieve such improvement next season.

Raphinha registered tallies of 10 goals and 13 assists in 37 Barcelona appearances last season, with Diaz posting figures of 13 and five respectively from his 51 Liverpool matches.

It is, therefore, the former who is heading into the summer on the back of a stronger season, which could really turn the heads of the powers that be at Anfield.

But at the same time, they will be fully aware of just how dangerous Diaz is when he gets going, with the Colombian bringing much more than goals and assists to the Reds.

He is well-liked among supporters too, who know how explosive and direct he is on his day, although many at Anfield would undoubtedly like a better end product from the winger.

That is certainly something both he and Slot could work on in pre-season, with the player having already formed strong links on the pitch with the likes of Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.
