Haryana govt assures 100-yard plots to 7500 BPL beneficiaries

New Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): In a significant move to provide housing for the underprivileged, the Haryana government led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Aawas Yojana, will issue possession certificates of 100 sq yard plots to more than 7500 BPL beneficiaries on June 10.

"The BPL families who were promised 100 yard plots were cheated by just showing the plot space but no registration or possession of land was done in their names," said CM Saini.

"There were many who struggled to get the plot. To provide people with plots and registry, Manohar Lal Khattar formed a scheme and, in Sonipat, all the beneficiaries will be given plot positions and registry," said CM Saini.

He further added that to allocate plots and registries, events will be held at various places in the state of Haryana.

"The beneficiaries will be provided what was promised. All the state ministers and MLAs will be present over there. The beneficiaries will be given position and registry there only," said CM Saini.

Earlier on Thursday, after taking oath as Bharatiya Janata Party Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Karnal, the Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini thanked the people of Karnal for bestowing their trust in him.

He further expressed his confidence to emerge victorious in the upcoming assembly elections in the state of Haryana. Nayab Singh Saini had recently won the assembly by-elections in the Karnal assembly constituency.

Earlier, he was serving as the Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency and was sworn in as Chief Minister of the state just before the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates. He also served as the state president of Haryana BJP.

Meanwhile, the BJP turned in a sub-par performance in the Lok Sabha Polls in Haryana. The party won 5 seats with the Congress also winning 5 seats. The BJP registered a vote share of 46.11 per cent while the Congress registered a vote share of 43.67 per cent and its alliance partner the Aam Admi Party registered a vote share of 3.94 per cent.
