St. Petersburg Man Killed On Motorcycle After Truck Turns Into His Path

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.- A 37-year-old St. Petersburg man was killed in a crash overnight after a truck turned in front of his motorcycle on Overlook Drive Northeast.

According to police, at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, a motorcycle operated by Damian Astacio, 37, of St. Petersburg, was traveling northeast on Overlook Drive Northeast.

A Ford F-150, operated by Luke Martin, 21, of St. Petersburg, was also traveling southwest on Overlook Drive Northeast.

Martin turned left turn to travel onto Bayshore Boulevard Northeast and into the path of Astacio.

Astacio was pronounced deceased from his injuries on the scene, police say.

The truck driver, Martin, was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for injuries.
