PragerU received notice Friday morning that its app was removed from Google’s Play Store for “Violation of Hate Speech,” as seen in the screenshot below.

Google notified the company that its app has been suspended and removed indefinitely due to “content asserting that a protected group is inhuman, inferior, or worthy of being hated,” referring to PragerU’s recently released short documentary Dear Infidels: A Warning to America.

The trailer for the short documentary has garnered over 42 million views on X.

This is not PragerU’s first time battling the tech giant.

The non-profit has notoriously sued Google and YouTube in the past for restricting over 200 videos, including videos on the Ten Commandments, which YouTube continues to restrict today.

PragerU, short for Prager University, was founded in 2009 by Dennis Prager, a prominent conservative commentator and radio talk show host.

The organization's mission is to "spread what we call 'Americanism' through the power of the Internet."

In 2016, PragerU filed a lawsuit against Google and YouTube, alleging that the platforms had engaged in unlawful censorship by restricting access to some of its videos. The organization claimed that its content was being placed in YouTube's "Restricted Mode," a feature designed to filter out potentially sensitive or inappropriate content, without justification.

Google, the parent company of YouTube, has long maintained that it is a private platform with the right to moderate content on its services.

The company's content moderation policies are designed to maintain a balance between promoting free expression and preventing the spread of harmful or illegal content.

However, PragerU has argued that these policies are being applied in a biased and discriminatory manner, targeting conservative viewpoints.
