Newbury Building Society has officially reopened its refurbished branch in Thatcham.
The branch, which has been a fixture of Thatcham’s town centre since 1979, has been extended and modernised to include a larger banking hall with extra seating, a sofa area, increased counter space and private rooms for customer appointments.

The refurbishment, completed by specialist design firm Morgan Lovell, is the fourth in a series of planned improvements to the society’s 10 branches located throughout Berkshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire.
CEO, Phillippa Cardno, said: “We are extremely pleased to officially open our refurbished Thatcham branch, which provides a much-needed in-person financial service to the local community.

“We know how vital face-to-face service is to our members, and our ‘bricks and clicks’ strategy demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with access to face-to-face services, as well as the choice to interact with us digitally if that suits.”

Mrs Cardno also announced the society’s new OneBanx kiosk will be unveiled soon at the branch, in partnership with OneBanx.
The initiative will promote better cash access in the town — the only site in the High Street to do so.
