Report: Arsenal believe they have real chance of signing 'incredible' player, he'll decide this week

Arsenal reportedly believe they are favourites to make one signing, with the player set to make a decision over his future this week.

Mikel Arteta is gearing up for a crucial summer transfer window as Arsenal bid to address key areas of the squad.

A new left-back and central midfielder are expected to be high on the Gunners’ priority list, while much has been made about the need to bring in a new striker.

Kai Havertz excelled while leading the line for Arteta’s side during the second half of the last campaign.

Despite the German’s encouraging run of form, Arsenal are still on the lookout for added depth in the position, particularly with Eddie Nketiah looking likely to head out the door.

Benjamin Sesko reportedly features ‘very high’ on Arsenal’s list of forward targets, with the RB Leipzig star also attracting interest from Chelsea.

Now, GiveMeSport has provided the latest on Sesko’s future and Arsenal are seemingly confident over their chances of landing the striker.

GMS claims that while Chelsea have already sent an offer to Sesko, five other clubs are also ready to trigger his £55 million release clause.

Arsenal believe they are favourites to secure the ‘incredible‘ striker’s signature.

Sesko is apparently keen to make a decision before Slovenia kick off their Euros campaign against Denmark on Sunday.

What will happen to Kai Havertz if Sesko arrives at Arsenal?

Many Arsenal supporters probably wouldn’t be too disappointed if Havertz continued to lead the line next season.

While the Gunners need added quality upfront, Havertz has proven he can perform as a striker under Arteta after netting 14 times last term.

A recent report claimed that Sesko wouldn’t arrive at Arsenal as an immediate starter and Havertz would keep his place in the side at the start of next season.

Of course, the Arsenal star is also capable of playing in midfield but has proven to be far more effective while leading the line since his move from Chelsea.
