Thanks to US assistance, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to regain military momentum on the battlefield this summer and go on the offensive, according to Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

"Either we’re going to help Ukraine or we’re not. It’s now time to give them the F-16s, let them fly the planes, long-range artillery to hit targets inside of Russia," he said.

Graham added that due to delays in US assistance, Ukraine lost momentum, but now there's a chance "to reset this war" as Kyiv has the weapons it needs.

According to him, the AFU needs to go on the offensive. "I think the summer Ukraine will regain military momentum," added Graham.

The senator said that Putin's assets need to be pursued worldwide. "Take the money from the sovereign wealth funds of Russia and give it to Ukraine. There’s $300 billion sitting in Europe, from Russia. And sovereign wealth assets that we should seize and give to Ukraine," he said.

US President Joe Biden met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Normandy, where world leaders gathered to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings during World War II. Biden apologized to Zelenskyy for the delay in US funding for the war against Russia.

The $61 billion aid package for Ukraine from the US was approved only in April 2024 after a six-month delay.
