Report: After Ramsdale and Lokonga, £82,000-a-week player now wants to leave Arsenal as well

One player now wants to leave Arsenal this summer in order to receive more playing time elsewhere.

A few senior players look set to depart the Emirates Stadium imminently – with Aaron Ramsdale up for sale after losing his spot to David Raya last season. The England international is also personally keen to become No.1 again elsewhere.

There are also doubts over the future of Albert Sambi Lokonga – who hopes to leave as well after a productive loan spell at Luton Town last term.

Now, another player is looking to depart Arsenal this summer…

Fabio Vieira wants to leave Arsenal

A story from A Bola in Portugal now claims that Fabio Vieira wants to leave Arsenal this summer, in hope of receiving more playing time elsewhere.

The Arsenal No.21 only made two Premier League starts last season – and 11 Premier League appearances in total – due to a combination of groin surgery and competition for places.

After regaining full fitness, Vieira was left on the bench in ten of Arsenal’s final 13 Premier League outings – only receiving a total of 54 minutes in the three games he did feature during that timeframe.

Now, the man from Santa Maria da Feira wants out of north London.

A Bola believe Porto are keen to bring Vieira back – the Portuguese giants actually sold him to Arsenal in a £34m deal back in June 2022.

However, it is said that the Primeira Liga outfit cannot afford to sign the £82,000-a-week man permanently, so only a loan deal is possible.

Mikel Arteta and Edu should push for a loan move

In our view, Mikel Arteta and Edu should be aiming to loan Vieira out anyway this summer.

David Ornstein of The Athletic claims that Arsenal believe the 24-year-old can still improve substantially, and the attacking midfielder didn’t really get a proper chance to show his skills last season due to injury.

With further competition for places potentially arriving in Viktor Tsygankov – who a bid has been submitted for – it would make sense to loan Vieira out, as he remains a player of real promise despite a slow start to life in north London.

Hopefully, Edu can find an opportunity that suits all parties this summer.
