March swimmers pick up string of PBs in Junior Fenland League at St Ives

March Marlins' Blue Army picked up a string of personal bests in the third round of the Junior Fenland League at One Leisure in St Ives, One Leisure.

The talented swimmers showcased their skills against swimming teams from St Ives, Huntingdon and Bottisham.

Some young swimmers made their debuts and were very brave and returned with excellent results.

March Marlins swimmers at the Summer Splint

The swimmers achieved an impressive 20 PBs out of 44 races and four swimmers competed above the age category cut-off times.

Marlins were placed second in the event.

The following day, Marlins held their annual club championship - the Summer Splint at Manor Leisure, Whittlesey.

The event was once again a big success thanks to the help of volunteers and their organisation skills.

There were 67 swimmers in attendance, which is a new record for the club championships.

As well as being a licensed event for the older swimmers, there were races for under-9s to experience the competitive swimming world. The youngsters tried very hard and enjoyed the event.

Many older swimmers gained their PB and the top three swimmers of each age category were awarded the medal and some talented swimmers gained qualification times for the county championships.
