Report: Ange Postecoglou seriously impressed by two Tottenham youngsters, could involve them in senior plans

If it ended up being a slightly disappointing end to the season for Ange Postecoglou and his first-team, then the same can’t be said for the club’s under-21s.

Spurs had three players nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season: Jamie Donley, Will Lankshear and Jude Soonsup-Bell.

Lankshear enjoyed a remarkable campaign, with the 19-year-old netting 23 goals in 23 games.

Soonsup-Bell was second to the young forward, netting 10 goals himself, with Donley scoring on six occasions.

A remarkable young team, and fortunately Tottenham do have a manager who will look to include young players as often as he can.

Perhaps last season wasn’t the right time for that, given that Postecoglou was still so early in his rebuild.

But according to a report shared by Football London, that could be about to change next campaign, with Postecoglou potentially eyeing first team roles for two players – ones not listed above.

Ange Postecoglou has ‘taken a real liking’ to Tottenham pair Mikey Moore and Tyrese Hall

Postecoglou has previously made it clear that he wants the club’s youth sides to have a better established link to the first team – something that will help with PSR in the long-term.

And according to the report mentioned, the Tottenham manager has been particularly impressed by both Mikey Moore (16) and Tyrese Hall (18) of late.

Of course, Moore made his first team debut last season, a testament to his rich potential.

And alongside the likes of Donley, Hall really made a real impression in the second half of the Premier League 2 season – delineating why he appeared on the bench for Tottenham’s final game of the season.

Moreover, given Spurs will once again enjoy European football in the Europa League this year, there will be a lot more minutes to share around.

And although Tottenham seems likely to add quality and numbers in the transfer market this summer, Postecoglou will also promote his young players.

Perhaps a few loan moves could be on the cards too, similar to that of Alfie Devine and Ashley Phillips who were both at Plymouth Argyle.

All that being said, Jamie O’Hara has just predicted where Tottenham will finish next season.
