'Going to be electric': Anthony Gordon already loves major change that Newcastle United have just made

Anthony Gordon is already looking forward to next season at Newcastle United.

The 23-year-old has just completed his first full season on Tyneside, and it could not have gone much better. Anthony Gordon was arguably Newcastle United’s best player throughout the 2023/24 campaign, while his performances were good enough to earn him a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Euros.

Now Gordon is going to try and bring football home for England, before returning to Newcastle ahead of what will be a massively important 2024/25 season.

The Magpies need to try and get back into Europe, and will likely invest in some new players before the new season kicks off.

There will be plenty of changes at St James’ Park, one of which has already been confirmed.

Anthony Gordon excited about Newcastle United working with Adidas

Last week, Adidas released their first Newcastle United kit in over a decade. They have now replaced Castore as the Magpies’ kit provider, and the new home shirt is on sale now.

It is an absolute beauty, and Gordon is extremely excited to wear it on a regular basis.

He has been speaking to Sky Sports – whilst wearing the new home shirt – and was asked if players get excited about new kits coming out and whether or not they get to see them in advance.

“Yeah, I’m really excited,” he said.

“The new collaboration with Adidas is going to be electric for the fans. Just to see it in the stadium and back at Newcastle is going to be an amazing feeling.

“I’ve seen the kit so I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out. I can’t wait to wear them next season.”

Adidas get Newcastle kit launch spot on

While it is just a shirt, there is such a buzz about Newcastle United working with Adidas again. The way their return has been promoted has been fantastic, and the launch of the new home shirt was perfect.

The demand for the new home shirt has been insane, and it will likely be a familiar story when the away and third kits are launched. They are expected to pay homage to the past, with the away jersey set to be burgundy and navy hoops, just like the iconic shirt from the Kevin Keegan era.

For the players, it probably does not matter what they wear too much. They will be more concerned about the badge rather than the manufacturer.

But Gordon seems thrilled about the new Adidas kit, and you can guarantee there will be a lot of Toon fans that are getting his name printed on the back of their shirts. He is adored on Tyneside, and he could even become a national hero if he shines at Euro 2024 for England.
