Heading into Monday, seven of the eight spots for the 2024 College World Series were filled. Just one Super Regional was left, with Georgia and NC State playing a Game 3 in Athens. Thanks to an 8-5 win, the Wolfpack have advanced to Omaha, and the field is officially set.

Of the eight times, all of them are from the ACC or SEC. It’s history for the College World Series, being the first time to only have two conference representatives since the tournament expanded in the late 1940s. Four from the ACC and four from the SEC, with conference pride on the line alongside a national championship.
Here are the teams participating in the 2024 College World Series, listed in alphabetical order.
While the Super Regionals were full of underdog stories, seven of the participants in Omaha were national seeds heading into the NCAA Tournament. Florida is the only one that did not host a regional, going through the Stillwater Regional and then winning the Clemson Regional in three games.
Arguably a controversial addition to the tournament field, the Gators have turned into one of the hottest teams in all of college baseball. A star of last year’s College World Series, Caglianone is once again set the shine on the biggest stage.
Games 1 and 2 of the College World Series are set to begin on Friday, with one side of the bracket getting things kicked off. Matchups have already been set, with Tennessee facing Florida State at 1 p.m. CT on ESPN and Kentucky playing NC State as the nightcap. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Games 3 and 4 will take place on Saturday as the other bracket get their journeys in Omaha underway. Virginia and North Carolina make up an all-ACC contest while Florida and Texas A&M will meet for the fourth time this season. Both start times and TV designations are the same as the day before.
The College World Series Final will begin on June 22, with a national champion being crowned no later than June 24. Most of the field have never won the title in their respective program’s history, with just two — Florida and Virginia — being the final team remaining at one point.
Odds are, a first-time national champion will be celebrating later in the month. All of Florida State, Kentucky, North Carolina, NC State, Tennessee, or Texas A&M will all be hoping it’s them. While the others are hoping to hang another banner in their ballparks before kicking off the 2025 season.
