Report: Chelsea will not stop £195k-a-week player leaving if a 'big offer' comes in

Chelsea are not going to prevent one of their players from leaving the club this summer if that is what he wants.

Several members of Enzo Maresca‘s squad look to be attracting interest from other sides.

Christopher Nkunku, for example, has reportedly been the subject of enquiries, while Romelu Lukaku is thought to be wanted in Italy.

It has been claimed that Napoli want to bring the Belgian in on loan following the arrival of his former manager Antonio Conte.

While there is talk about Nkunku and Lukaku leaving, there has also been speculation about RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko coming in.

Chelsea will let player decide his own future

After spending the last two seasons out on loan, it definitely looks like Lukaku will be departing Stamford Bridge this summer.

However, there is a bit more uncertainty surrounding Nkunku.

According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea would consider a ‘big offer’ for the forward when the transfer window opens.

At the same time, though, the aforementioned outlet has also claimed that the final decision would rest on Nkunku.

The Blues, then, do not seem to be pushing the Frenchman out of the club, but it does not look like they are completely ruling out an exit either.

Should Christopher Nkunku leave Chelsea this summer?

Last season obviously did not go to plan for Nkunku. Because of injuries, he made less than 15 appearances.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, the 26-year-old was, understandably, frustrated with how the campaign went.

It does not mean that Nkunku should depart west London this summer, though.

If the France international, who earns £195,000 a week at Chelsea (Spotrac), can remain fit next season, it could be a completely different campaign.

For now, it is definitely worth Nkunku staying around and having another crack at Premier League football. One of the three goals he scored last term came against Liverpool, so he looks more than capable of playing at this level.
