'Sources have stated': Chelsea would only listen to 'huge offer' for 'important' player - journalist

Chelsea look likely to keep hold of one player who is reportedly attracting interest from other clubs.

Right now, there are quite a few Chelsea stars who have caught the attention of other teams.

For example, Christopher Nkunku is said to have been the subject of enquiries, while the likes of Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

It has been claimed that Everton are in talks with Chelsea to sign the former, while Aston Villa are thought to be keen on the latter.

Exits in west London this summer, then, look possible.

Chelsea unlikely to sell player

A new manager means there could be some change at Chelsea over the next couple of months.

Enzo Maresca was named as Mauricio Pochettino‘s successor last week.

However, one player who looks like he will be staying at Chelsea is Nkunku.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, it would take a “huge offer” for the Blues to even consider selling the forward.

On his Substack, he wrote: “Sources have stated that it would need to be a huge offer if Chelsea were to even listen to it, but there are no plans to sell the French international right now, and he was signed to be a key player in the squad rebuild; there is big belief in him from those inside the club.”

Chelsea should not listen to offers for Christopher Nkunku

Even if a big offer for Nkunku arrives in the transfer window, Chelsea should not consider selling him.

If the Frenchman can stay fit, then he has the potential to bring a lot of goals to Maresca’s side.

Nkunku, who was seen as an “important” player by Pochettino, was prolific during his time at RB Leipzig. He scored 35 goals back in the 2021/22 season before netting 23 the campaign after.

Chelsea fans have not been able to see that kind of firepower from the 26-year-old, but that could change under Maresca if he can stay injury-free.
