Arsenal fans have now given their verdict on an alternative striker transfer target after it became clear Benjamin Sesko is not joining the club.

The Gunners were keen on striking a deal for Benjamin Sesko. However, it seems that the Slovenian forward has now opted to remain at RB Leipzig and sign a new contract with the Bundesliga club.
Mikel Arteta is known to hold an interest in a number of other strikers. Arsenal have been linked with Victor Osimhen, whilst Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres, and Ivan Toney have all also been named in connection with the North London club.
Arsenal turn to Joshua Zirkzee after Benjamin Sesko decision
Now Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Joshua Zirkzee, who has been identified as a potential alternative to Sesko. The Dutchman currently plies his trade for Bologna, and impressed in Serie A this season. However, AC Milan appear to be closing in on a deal for Zirkzee, as reported by Sky Sports, meaning the Gunners will have to act fact in order to secure his services for themselves.
The 23-year-old has plenty of attractive qualities. Standing at 6’4”, he offers plenty of physical presence at the top end of the pitch. He boasts physicality, aerial prowess, and a high level of technical ability. Beyond operating as a target man, Zirkzee is also comfortable dropping deep and involving himself in the build-up play, and he can also progress forwards with the ball at his feet.
However, whilst he was able to find the back of the net 11 times in 34 Serie A outings last season, his finishing is not always as reliable or clinical as possible. In the Premier League, with time and space in the penalty area coming at a real premium, the striker would have to sharpen up in front of goal.

One Arsenal fan claimed: “Zirkzee is just like Gabriel Jesus and Nketiah, they have very little eyes for goal and that’s not what we need right now. Let’s focus on a quality winger and CM. We can do with Havertz and Jesus upfront. And next summer we push for Isak or any other quality striker.”
Another offered: “Think we should go for a winger. We don’t need to spend 100mill on a ST when we can spread and get a good winger 50mill and a good midfielder 60mill. There is lots of talent flying under the radar because we all pay attention to fees. Look where Brighton and co are looking.”
