State-owned companies have transferred six times more drones to Ukrainian defenders in five months than during 2023, according to Vadym Sukharevskyi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Over the past six months, the state has supplied the Armed Forces with drones six times more than during the whole last year. The tendency is increasing," Sukharevskyi emphasized.

He also guaranteed that the task of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to deliver 1 million FPV drones to Ukrainian defenders in 2024 would be exceeded.

According to Sukharevskyi, there are many drone manufacturers in Ukraine, but not all of them are ready for large-scale production. Therefore, government programs are being created to scale up their production.

"It's not just about production within Ukraine, but also abroad, to scale up the best models," said the Commander of Unmanned Systems.

Drone production in Ukraine

Ukraine has significantly increased drone production since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. The Armed Forces of Ukraine use drones to defend the country from the Russian army.

In particular, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces lacked artillery shells, they were replaced by FPV drones, which actively destroyed enemy infantry and equipment.

On April 19, it became known that a plant of the German company Quantum-Systems GmbH for the production of drones was opened in Ukraine.
