Ukraine expects positive decisions soon regarding the transfer of two or three Patriot air defense systems, according to a statement by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with the Defense Minister of Germany, Boris Pistorius.

The head of the state mentioned that Ukraine is working with partners from the USA and "some other" European countries on the transfer of the Patriot air defense systems.

"I don't want to say yet with whom exactly from Europe because we are waiting for confirmation of those decisions (referring to announcements of Patriot deliveries). We expect a positive outcome soon regarding two or three systems," emphasized Zelenskyy.

It's worth noting that Ukraine has intensified calls to allies for the transfer of Patriot air defense systems in recent months, as they are capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.

So far, only Germany has agreed to provide one Patriot battery. This will be the third system to be transferred by the Germans.

Recently, Italy announced its decision to transfer the SAMP/T air defense system to Ukraine, which is also capable of intercepting ballistic targets. Today, on June 11, the Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, announced readiness to deliver a battery.
