'Reached an agreement': £8m player says Man City will allow him to leave on loan for 2024/25

One of Manchester City’s young players has stated that an agreement has been reached for him to go out on loan for 2024/25.

There has been plenty of transfer talk already around Manchester City this summer, with the window not actually open yet for another few days.

Several players have been linked with exits, and fans are fascinated to see how the squad will look for the first game of next season.

Ideally, City will be keeping very important players like Ederson, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, with all three being linked with moves away.

There are likely to be plenty of younger players leaving on loan, and it looks like one has now reached an agreement to do just that.

Maximo Perrone, who signed for City in January 2023 from Velez Sarsfield for around £8 million, has been speaking about his future.

The Argentine youngster spent last term on loan at Spanish outfit Las Palmas, making 30 appearances for the club. Perrone enjoyed a decent spell with the club, helping them to finish 16th, seven points above the relegation zone.

The holding midfielder is potentially someone who could be an option for the City first-team in the future. Certainly, there is a need for more cover for Rodri.

But at the moment City don’t appear ready to bring him back into the fold just yet.

Perrone says that he has actually agreed to another loan move for 2024/25, although it is currently not decided exactly where he’ll go.

He is quoted as saying (via udlaspalmas.net): “We reached an agreement that there will be one more loan.

“I think we have to see the options. It is still very early. You have to take it easy and choose the best option.

Perrone needs to play for a higher quality team

It will be very interesting to see where Perrone will be heading for the 2024/25 season, but ideally it will be to a club that is looking to push higher up the table than Las Palmas were.

Perrone was involved in a relegation battle which can obviously be a great learning experience.

But City should perhaps now seek to get him playing for a team that will be looking to finish in the top half or perhaps among the European places.

Perrone is a player who likes to get on the ball and is very tidy in possession. This is evidenced by the 90% pass completion rate he finished the 2023/24 season with (via WhoScored).

Obviously it is really important for players to be good on the ball at City, so if Perrone gets the right move and thrives then he could really boost his first-team prospects.
