Germany, together with allies, is providing Ukraine with 100 missiles for the Patriot air defense systems. Over 30 interceptors have already been transferred, according to a statement by the Defense Minister of Germany, Boris Pistorius, during a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The German official reminded that he recently visited Odesa and saw the consequences of Russian strikes on the city. He also announced a new package of military assistance.

"And especially after seeing how critically important air defense is for Ukraine's survival, today I am pleased to announce the delivery of a significant number of interceptors for the Patriot system - one hundred," the minister noted.

According to him, Germany is providing the Patriot missiles as part of an initiative involving Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway.

"32 of these interceptors have already been delivered in the last two days, and the remaining 68 will be provided in the coming weeks," Pistorius said.

He emphasized that such deliveries will help protect Ukrainian infrastructure and the lives of civilians.

Patriot for Ukraine

Germany has already transferred two Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. Additionally, in April, the German government announced the transfer of a third battery.

As President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced today, June 11, new positive decisions are expected regarding the transfer of two or three Patriot systems.

The head of state noted that negotiations for the supply of the air defense systems are ongoing with the USA and European countries.
