The Netherlands will allocate 60 million euros for the development of offensive drone capacity for Ukraine, according to the press service of the Dutch Ministry of Defense.

As noted by the Ministry, this announcement was made by Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren during a recent visit to Kyiv.

As part of the announced aid package worth 60 million euros, the Netherlands is allocating 20 million euros for the purchase of FPV drones through the drone coalition, which was created earlier this year within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

An additional 17.5 million euros are designated for the procurement of maritime drones.

"Ukraine can produce this type of drone in the country, so the Netherlands is also stimulating local business with this financial contribution," the Dutch Ministry of Defense noted.

The remaining funds will go towards bilateral supplies of various types of drones. The Ministry mentioned that the Dutch industry would also benefit from this.

Assistance to Ukraine from the Netherlands

The Netherlands, with the support of other Patriot-owning countries, plans to assemble and deliver a Patriot system to Ukraine in the short term. For this, Amsterdam will provide key components from its own stockpiles and request additional main components from European countries.

Additionally, the Netherlands and its allies will purchase extra military equipment for Ukraine worth 175 million euros.

Recently, it was announced that Ukraine will receive a new batch of military aid from the Netherlands, including YPR-765 armored vehicles.

Ukrainian military personnel are expecting to receive F-16 fighters from the Netherlands as early as this summer.
