Skeleton Found 30 Years Ago in Vacant Florida Lot Finally Identified

More than three decades after hunters in Florida stumbled upon a skeleton on a vacant lot, authorities have finally determined the victim's identity.

Through the use of genetic genealogy, the Orange County Sheriff's Office announced scientists with Orthram Labs have confirmed the skeletal remains found near Apopka, Florida, belong to 48-year-old Richard Wick.

Evidence indicates Wick was the victim of a homicide.

The sheriff's office is asking people with information on the case to come forward.

"Your information could be crucial in bringing justice to Richard and resolution to his family," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post Tuesday.
