The number of countries and organizations that have confirmed their participation in the peace summit in Switzerland, where President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace formula is to be discussed, has decreased from 93 to 78, according to Radio Svoboda.
Several diplomats from EU countries familiar with the preparation of the event provided this information to Radio Svoboda on condition of anonymity.
They did not specify which countries or organizations have been removed from the list of participants. One diplomat did not rule out the possibility that this list may still grow.
"My goal is to have a family photo of almost 80 people," one official said. Another diplomat, confirming the 78 confirmed participants, noted that there is still some time left.
Peace Summit
The summit will take place from June 15 to 16 in Switzerland and is expected to focus on discussing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace formula.
Russia is trying to disrupt the summit by dissuading countries loyal to it from participating. Russia was not invited, but it is expected to have the opportunity to participate in a conference on the summit's outcomes.
On June 11, NHK reported that the draft joint statement mentions only three out of ten points of Ukraine's peace formula. The document also does not include demands for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory and the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
