French TikToker issues desperate plea after someone ‘ruins’ a croissant

A French man launched a passionate attack against pastry lovers as he begged them to please stop ruining the iconic croissant.

Thanks to apps like TikTok, we now have a range of food hacks to try like the recent top tip for taking your McDonald’s breakfast bagel to the next level. Outside of innovative hacks, the world of social media has also made us more aware of exciting (or questionable) product releases. One such example would be the mac & cheese popcorn from Kraft.

Stop ruining French pastries!

With the same energy that Pasta Queen recently demonstrated over the Americanization of Italy’s dishes, TikTok’s @aliiikleit stitched a video of another creator eating a flat croissant with what appeared to be a raspberry crust. Suffice it to say he was not impressed.

“Can you all just have a normal croissant,” he asked, his frustration clearly coming through. “We did cookie, we’ve done the croissant with the f*****g ham inside, or with bacon. Flat croissant. Everything croissant.”

He then continued to say that a croissant should be eaten by itself, or at a push, with some jam and butter.

Though @aliiikleit might not approve, cultural consultant Heidi Dulebohn detailed a few of the appropriate methods of eating a croissant on her YouTube channel. Firstly, she said croissants should always be torn apart in small mouthfuls, and the same goes for the almond variety.

Americans continued to horrify the French man

While most people would have left the French man to his croissant-fueled temper tantrum, TikTok users in their divine wisdom decided to double down.

One person wrote: “Don’t look up the Dutch crompouce I think you will lose your mind.”

“Don’t forget the cubed croissant,” another person said, to which the original poster replied, “There are so many renditions I can’t keep count at this point.”

Someone else wrote: “There’s a bakery near me that does a croissant with cacio e Pepe spaghetti inside.”
