Report: Arsenal have just made an offer to sign player who Jude Bellingham called 'unbelievable'

Arsenal have made a surprise move to sign a Real Madrid player this summer.

The Gunners are expected to be active in this transfer window. They could do with reinforcements in multiple areas of their pitch, and Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar are hard at work behind the scenes.

Now, a report from Spain has claimed that one Real Madrid player has an offer on the table to join Arsenal once the transfer window opens.

Arsenal make an offer to Real Madrid star Andriy Lunin

Arsenal are expected to be on the market for a new goalkeeper this summer.

David Raya is expected to be signed on a permanent deal, and that move is likely to bring an end to Aaron Ramsdale’s career at the Emirates.

The England international was terrific for the Gunners in his first two seasons at the club, but he has been pushed down the pecking order following Raya’s arrival.

After winning the Golden Glove in the 2023/24 season, Raya is expected to be signed permanently and start next term as Arsenal’s number one, but Arteta may have a surprise new plan.

Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Andriy Lunin from Real Madrid this summer, once he enters the final year of his contract.

The Ukraine international had a fine season for the Galacticos, and even though he did not start in the final, he’s one of the biggest reasons why Real Madrid won the Champions League.

Now, Spanish outlet COPE have claimed that ‘Lunin is thinking about his future’ at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 25-year-old has received a proposal from his side to extend his contract, but the report claims he also has an offer from Arsenal.

Cope journalist Miguel Angel Diaz adds that Lunin has a ‘cold relationship’ with Carlo Ancelotti – he thinks the Real Madrid boss does not trust him.

That could help Arsenal in their reported pursuit.

Mikel Arteta could make another ruthless Arsenal decision

If there’s one thing Arteta has shown at Arsenal, it’s that he isn’t afraid to make big decisions.

The Spaniard, just a few months after he took the Arsenal job, axed Mesut Ozil, who was the club’s highest earner. Then, he did the same with skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

No Arsenal player has any disciplinary issues at the moment, but Arteta could be about to make another ruthless decision at Arsenal soon.

If the Gunners have made an offer to Lunin, Raya could end up suffering the same fate that Ramsdale did in the 2023/24 campaign.

Lunin, who Jude Bellingham called ‘unbelievable’ on Instagram, is too good to sit on the bench at Arsenal, so if he agrees to move to the Emirates, we believe he will have received assurances that he’ll be a starter.

That would be bad news for Raya, who will likely drop down to be the club’s number two then.
