Premier League side Fulham have had a bid of £6.75m rejected for a player reportedly on Leeds United’s radar ahead of the summer window, but they are preparing a second offer.
Leeds are in need of new wingers this summer, after Jaidon Anthony returned to Bournemouth following his loan spell at Elland Road. Crysencio Summerville has half of the Premier League looking to sign him.
Indeed, Fulham are one of the clubs touted with a move for Summerville, along with Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and even James Milner’s Brighton in the last week.
Willy Gnonto is another expected to depart Elland Road in the coming months and reports in Italy say that Inter Milan could sign Gnonto, to bring in a homegrown ace to aid Champions League registration.
Losing Gnonto, Summerville and Anthony would leave Leeds with just Dan James as an option out wide. Ian Poveda is about to leave the club on a free too, with his contract at Elland Road ending on June 30.

DR Congo international Silas is a player that has emerged on Leeds’ radar in the last few weeks. The Stuttgart wide man enjoyed a successful 2023-24 term, even if he only started nine of his 30 appearances.
He had a hand in 13 goals, while also playing in the African Cup of Nations. Last week, Leeds were named as one of five clubs interested in Silas alongside Fulham, Villarreal, Lens and Auxerre this summer.
Now, a report from Caught Offside claim Marco Silva’s Fulham have seen a bid of £6.75m rejected for Silas. It is reported that the London side are preparing to go back in for Silas with a second bid of £12.5m.
‘Remarkable’ story of Silas playing under a fake name initially
To begin with at Stuttgart, Silas played under the name Silas Wamangituka and claimed he was a year older than he actually was. But in 2021, he admitted his real age and his name is Silas Katompa Mvumpa.
The wide man’s “remarkable” story came about a few years ago and is now playing happily with all of his real details in the public domain. His reasoning was he lived in fear for his safety, and his family’s safety.
It seems the chances of Silas ending up at Elland Road are slim given Leeds find themselves in the race for his signature with top-tier clubs, like Fulham and Villarreal. But it could be down to game time.
