Report: 'Outstanding' player is now more likely to sign for West Ham than Wolves this summer

It looks set to be a busy summer transfer window for Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United and he could pip his former side Wolverhampton Wanderers to one signing.

Julen Lopetegui is back in the Premier League a year after his sudden departure from Wolves on the eve of last season.

The Spaniard has replaced David Moyes at West Ham and will be aiming to shape the squad in his image over the coming weeks.

The Hammers look set to bolster their options at left-back during the upcoming window, with doubts surrounding the future of Aaron Cresswell.

And West Ham are reportedly eyeing an opportunity to snap up a La Liga full-back on a free transfer, which could come at the expense of Gary O’Neil’s Wolves.

Juan Miranda more likely to join West Ham than Wolves

Juan Miranda looks set to leave Real Betis at the end of the month upon his contract expiring.

The left-back has received interest from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, as well as several clubs in England.

Now, GiveMeSport claims that Wolves and Crystal Palace are keen on the defender, while West Ham have also expressed an interest.

It’s noted that FC Porto and AC Milan are admirers but if Miranda opts for a switch to the Premier League, West Ham would be his ‘most likely destination’.

Miranda would be astute business for West Ham

It’s no secret that Cresswell is approaching the end of his career and West Ham need added competition for Emerson.

Miranda would certainly provide that after featuring regularly for Real Betis over the past three years.

The Spaniard racked up 32 appearances last term, having a hand in four goals in the process.

At 24, the ‘outstanding’ left-back would offer the Hammers a younger alternative to Emerson and the move feels like a no-brainer given it would be a free transfer.
