Talks open as Ange Postecoglou signing moves closer to Celtic summer exit

Speculation at Celtic surrounding potential incomings has dominated the landscape in media circles over the past few weeks.

Nevertheless, offloading fringe players is also set to be a key endeavour at Parkhead, with Brendan Rodgers aware that departures will pave the way for quality additions to arrive.

According to reports, Lecce have reignited their interest in Swedish defender Gustaf Lagerbielke, who is wanted on a loan deal with an option to buy.

The 24-year-old was set to depart in January before an injury to Cameron Carter-Vickers stalled his move. On the same token, Parma are keen on a move for Celtic forgotten man Sead Haksabanovic following his loan spell at Stoke City.

With summer transfer activity starting to take shape, another of Ange Postecoglou’s signings while at the club could now be set to leave the Bhoys.

Hyeongyu Oh in talks over Celtic exit

According to The Daily Record, South Korean striker Hyeongyu Oh is wanted by Belgian outfit Genk after becoming a peripheral figure at Celtic over the second half of 2023/24.

Talks are open over a potential move; however, it isn’t yet clear whether the 23-year-old would depart on a loan deal or permanently, that depends on the stance Rodgers and company adopt.

The former Suwon Bluewings attacker is keen to get back playing regularly to catapult himself back into South Korea contention after losing his place in the squad earlier this year.

Overall, Oh made 26 appearances across all competitions for Celtic during the campaign, registering five goals in the process [Transfermarkt].

Despite this, Adam Idah’s arrival on loan pushed him further down the pecking order at Parkhead. The outlet state the Hoops are still plotting a permanent move for the Irishman.

Evaluating the circumstances, it looks likely that Oh will leave Celtic to continue developing elsewhere, clearing a spot in the forward line for someone else to take up this summer.
