Report: £4m Leeds player's agent holds meeting with European club and he's now expected to leave soon

The agent of a player still on Leeds United’s books has just held a meeting with a big European club and now the defender is expected to leave in the ‘coming weeks’.

Of the eight players that used Victor Orta’s loan relegation clause last summer, the future of three players has been decided. Robin Koch’s contract expires in June and he has joined Frankfurt on a permanent deal.

Luis Sinisterra went on loan to Bournemouth and the Colombia star has since joined The Cherries beyond his loan, in a deal worth north of £20m. Brenden Aaronson meanwhile, will be in the Leeds side next term.

The future of Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen, Diego Llorente, Max Wober and Jack Harrison remains up in the air with nothing confirmed. However, Betis president Angel Haro says a deal to re-sign Roca is close.

Jack Harrison can return to Everton on loan and it is expected that will happen. Now, an update on Spain defender Llorente who has spent the last 18 months at Serie A giants Roma, playing more than 50 times.

£4m Diego Llorente agent holds meeting ahead of Roma move

The situation surrounding Llorente is that there is a gentleman’s agreement between Leeds, Roma and Llorente to do a deal this summer. The defender has a £4.3m permanent clause in his Roma loan contract.

It was reported last week that Roma’s new sporting director was meeting with his club’s hierarchy to talk about a move for Llorente. New manager Daniele De Rossi is keen on securing Llorente next season.

Quotidiano Sport say sporting director Florent Ghisolfi met with Llorente’s agent Fali Ramadani to discuss Llorente and while the £4.3m clause has not been activated, ‘white smoke’ is likely in the ‘coming weeks’.

Leeds loss expected but it is worth it finally sell Llorente

Leeds spent a whopping £18m on Llorente, and with the Spaniard making 59 appearances for the Whites he has cost the Yorkshire club around £6m every 20 games. Now, Leeds are set to make a hefty loss.

That is even if Leeds do cash in on Llorente this summer. It might be that Roma sign Llorente on loan for a third time with an obligation to buy him next time around, but surely at that fee Roma will do business.
