Lauren Boebert's mother has felony charge dismissed in Colorado: court records

Colorado prosecutors have reportedly dismissed a felony trespassing charge against Shawna Bentz, the mother of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

On Wednesday, the watchdog group American Muckrakers shared a Colorado court records that indicated the charge had been dropped. The details of Bentz's 2016 arrest warrant were not available.

The Garfield County Sheriff's Office revisited the arrest warrant for Benz in 2023 after American Muckrakers brought attention to the case.

Boebert's son, 18-year-old Tyler Boebert, was facing his own legal problems after he was charged with 22 counts related to vehicle trespassing and property thefts, according to the Rifle Police Department.

One commenter on X (formerly Twitter), going by the name Betty Bowers, reacted by calling Benz "xenophobic trash." In a video shared with the post, a woman who appears to be Boebert's mother complains about Mexicans.

"Today, we are here to talk about things we hate," the woman said in the video. "I hate when I pull up to a red light or even a gas station, and you're sitting there, and you're listening to a nice country song or maybe even some classic rock and roll, some Lynyrd Skynyrd."

"And you get, well, I don't know if we're allowed to, are we allowed to say Mexican?" she continued. "But anyways, I hate it whenever they're like playing that hat music, you know, that da da da da da da, da da da da da da da da, and they blast it, right?"

"But anyways, I hate that."
