Former Oregon basketball standout Luke Jackson will join the Ducks’ men’s basketball radio team as an analyst next year, according to a press release issued by the school on Wednesday evening. He’ll be joining the voice of the Ducks, Joey McMurry at all home games and at certain postseason road games.

“Luke is one of Oregon’s all-time greats and we are excited to have him working with Joey to call our games,” head coach said. “Luke sees the game from a unique perspective and Duck fans will really enjoy his insights on the game.”

Jackson ranks second all-time on the Ducks’ scoring list with 1,970 career points. He’s also the only player in school history to rank in the top 10 in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Jackson was named first team All-Pac-10 in 2003. In 2004, he was named a consensus second team All-American when he stuffed the stat sheet with 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

“It’s an exciting time to be a fan of Oregon basketball,” Jackson said. “They have one of the best coaching staffs in the country, they’ve recruited very well and have a must-see roster. I’m looking forward to just being at the games while also calling the action with Joey Mac because this is a historic era of Oregon basketball.”

Luke Jackson was instrumental in turning the program around

Jackson is also the only player in Oregon basketball history with multiple triple doubles. He helped guide the Ducks to the Pac-10 regular season crown in 2002, the program’s first one since 1945, as well as Oregon’s first Pac-10 Tournament Championship in 2003. The Ducks punched their tickets to the NCAA Tournament in 2002 and 2003. The 2002 team was able to make it all the way to the Elite Eight, which was the first Elite Eight trip for the Ducks’ basketball program since 1960.

Jackson was drafted No. 10 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2004, becoming the school’s first top 10 pick since Greg Ballard was picked No. 4 overall by the Washington Bullets in 1977. After his pro career, he got into coaching, becoming the two-time Cascade Conference Coach of the Year at Bushnell University. Most recently, he was hired as the head coach for Pleasant Hill High School (Pleasant Hill, Oregon).

The Oregon Sports Network from Learfield is the official radio home for the Ducks and you can find a complete list of the radio station affiliates available at GoDucks.com/OSN.
