Alasdair Gold confirms whether he thinks Fabio Paratici is still involved in Tottenham's transfer dealings

Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a crucial summer transfer window and many Spurs fans may be wondering if former managing director of football Fabio Paratici is still involved.

Fabio Paratici was forced to resign from his role at Tottenham back in April 2023 after failing to overturn a 30-month ban from football.

The Italian has since continued to work on a consultancy basis and advise Spurs in the transfer market after parts of his ban were lifted.

Paratici oversaw dramatic improvements in Tottenham’s transfer dealings during his two-year spell at the club. Moves for Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr are just a few he has since received praise for.

He also aided Spurs during Postecoglou’s first summer transfer window last year, which saw the club bring in the likes of Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Brennan Johnson.

However, Johan Lange has since arrived as the club’s new technical director after joining from Aston Villa in October.

Given the recent shake-up behind the scenes, Tottenham fans are likely to be intrigued over Paratici’s involvement ahead of the summer transfer window.

And Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has shared whether he believes Paratici will still have a role to play.

Is Paratici still involved at Tottenham?

Speaking on The Last Word on Spurs, Gold was quizzed on Paratici’s involvement at Tottenham.

The journalist admitted he would be surprised if Paratici didn’t continue to advise Spurs on some transfer targets but he hopes the Italian isn’t as involved after the arrival of Lange.

“I would be stunned if there is still not a little bit of advice coming his way to Spurs and [Daniel] Levy at times,” Gold said. “But certainly, I think just for the whole kind of idea and the sanctity of this new recruitment team, hopefully, he’s not as involved as he was in that first window under Ange as he had to be.

“But like I say, I would be stunned if he’s not still making the odd recommendation of stuff because he had Levy’s ear and as you said, to be fair to him, there weren’t many misses under his tenure either.

“So I guess when you get someone you kind of trust in that market in terms of recommendations, you’ll probably keep listening to them.”
