Report: Leeds are interested in signing £3.3m playmaker with nine goal contributions last season

Leeds United are interested in signing a £3.3m playmaker with nine goal contributions last season, according to a recent report.

The West Yorkshire club are expected to be busy this month, with a number of key assets potentially leaving to stay in line with Profit and Sustainability regulations.

Crysencio Summerville will likely leave Elland Road, as may Wilfried Gnonto, who has been linked with a switch to the Premier League sides and clubs in Italy.

Though, whilst club chiefs work outgoings, the recruitment team appear to have identified a creative midfielder.

Leeds interested in Natan Girma

According to Quotidiano Sportivo, Leeds United are interested in signing AC Reggiana’s playmaker Natan Girma.

The 2001-born joined the second-tier Italian side last summer and enjoyed a productive season, netting six goals whilst laying on three assists.

Watford are touted as a potential suitor this summer, too, though AC Monza are currently leading the race.

A £3.3m price tag has been mooted.

Natan Girma statistics

Girma, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a number eight, has been absent since April due to injury, though, he’s still managed to record a number of impressive statistics.

As per FBref, the 22-year-old ranks in the top three per cent for blocks compared to his positional peers around Europe.

Further, he sits in the top nine per cent for tackles, evincing his terrific defensive work rate.

Pair that with his attacking output and Leeds could sign a really complete profile in the middle of the park for a viable fee.
