Report: Nottingham Forest have just entered the race to sign 'exceptional' Brazilian player

Nottingham Forest have now entered the race to sign another Brazilian this summer but face fierce competition.

Now the summer transfer window has opened, Forest are able to bolster their side which only narrowly avoided the drop last season.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side were able to avoid the drop on the final day of the campaign which indicates significant work needs to be done over the summer.

Although the window may have only just opened, Forest are looking to make some deals work early on with exits needed before 30 June.

The City Ground will require player sales over the coming weeks with Forest needing to generate some cash through player sales.

However, this does not mean there is not a focus on potential signings with Evangelos Marinakis looking to potentially bring in yet another Brazilian.

Forest looking to add another Brazilian to their squad

Nuno’s side is currently littered with several Brazilian’s who are playing a big role at the club currently.

The likes of Murillo and Danilo have established themselves at the City Ground with Murillo now valued at around £70m by the Reds.

Murillo is one of the players who could be cashed in this summer for a significant profit having only signed last year.

However, it seems Forest are looking to keep the Brazilian group growing with a new right-back on the radar as a possible summer addition.

According to RTI Esporte, Forest are one of the sides who are showing an interest in signing the Monaco right-back Vanderson.

Napoli are the club believed to be most proactive in the pursuit of the 22-year-old right-back with an offer set to be submitted in the coming days.

It is claimed Monaco are looking for €15m (£12.5m) for the defender who is also receiving interest from the Spanish side Sevilla this summer.

Forest could find top quality Neco Williams alternative in Vanderson

Over the 2023/24 campaign, Vanderson made 20 appearances in Ligue 1 for Monaco where he was able to return three goals and one assist.

This is still a young player with the 22-year-old having now completed his third season in Europe having made the move from Gremio in Brazil.

Current Rangers – and former Monaco – manager Philippe Clement has previously had some big praise to put on the Brazilian.

“He had an exceptional adaptation here [2021/22]. We have already spoken about that. He is also a player who is and continues to interest lots of big clubs, he told the GFFN.

“That can possibly do something to the mindset, not that he didn’t have his feet on the ground, but Vanderson is very ambitious and a huge perfectionist.”

Vanderson is not the only Brazilian Forest are eyeing this summer with Nuno’s side also believed to be closing in on a deal for Carlos Miguel from Corinthians.
