Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate looks towards next season with Instagram message

Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate is one of a number of players that have recently been on international duty representing their native country.

Of course, most of the spotlight regarding Bhoys on duty with their nations right now is centred around Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor, Anthony Ralston and James Forrest, who are involved with Scotland at EURO 2024.

Nevertheless, Hatate and Daizen Maeda were in action for Japan against Myanmar last week, helping Hajime Moriyasu’s men record a 5-0 victory.

Despite not taking part against Syria yesterday, the Samurai Blue prevailed by the same scoreline, finishing top by nine points in World Cup Asian qualifying Second Round Group B.

In light of a positive camp for Japan, Hatate has now taken to Instagram to show his gratitude to supporters.

Celtic’s Reo Hatate takes to Instagram to thank fans

Posting on the social media outlet, Hatate uploaded two pictures of himself in action, with one snap while involved with Japan and the other in Celtic colours.

Accompanying his photos, the 26-year-old’s caption read (translated via DeepL): “Thank you for your support this season! We will rest a bit again and work hard for next season! The atmosphere in the city of Hiroshima and the stadium was great! We hope to see you all next season!”

Although you would assume that it is primarily aimed at Japan supporters, the fact he has referenced Celtic makes it even more relevant, and he will be keen to take control in midfield following some frustrating injury issues in 2023/24.

Hopefully, Hatate can enjoy some well-deserved rest before returning to pre-season fighting fit as Brendan Rodgers’ men look to build on winning the double last time out.
