Celtic defender Anthony Ralston sent message from Hollywood after impressing for Scotland

As four Celtic players are now in Germany preparing for the big Euro 2024 kick-off, the Hoops fans will be looking forward to seeing how they do against the cream of Europe for Scotland.

Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Greg Taylor and Anthony Ralston are now settling into Scotland’s base camp in Garmisch-Partenkirchen before Scotland face Germany in the tournament curtain-raiser in Munich on Friday night.

And whilst hopes are high that Scotland can get out of the group stage for the first time in their history, all eyes will be on Steve Clarke‘s starting line-up.

Undoubtedly, Celtic captain, Callum McGregor will start the game. Clarke has utilised the Hoops legend in all bar one meaningful Scotland game since taking over in 2019. [Transfermarkt]

So that then leaves a question mark on who out of the remaining three Celtic heroes will make the Scotland starting line-up vs Germany?

James McAvoy’s message to Anthony Ralston

Scotland’s defensive injury issues meant that Anthony Ralston and Greg Taylor were called into the provisional Euro 2024 squad.

James Forrest’s impressive form for Celtic meant that the Scotland boss could not ignore the Hoops winger.

However, it was Ralston who got a message on Instagram after the Celtic defender posted ‘Onto Germany’ after starring in the draw against Finland at Hampden on Friday night.

Ralston has already been tipped to start against the Germans on Friday by former Celtic hero, Peter Grant.

Grant reckons his defensive qualities, crossing and reliability will be so important for Steve Clarke and he showed all that, and more, in the draw against Finland.

The Scotland boss was left impressed by Ralston and after the game, he credited Ralston’s work at Celtic for his impressive Hampden performance.

No doubt the Celtic fans will see all their heroes at some stage in the tournament but it does seem like all the signs are pointing towards Ralston getting the nod for another Scotland start this Friday.
