Doubling Down With The Derricos star, Dean Derrico, has asked his fanbase for prayers. He revealed his nephew, Amani, has been “extremely sick” all year and recently underwent liver surgery.
The TLC star shared the news on his Instagram Story on June 13, asking “prayer warriors” to “please send up a prayer” for his nephew, Amani. The Doubling Down With The Derricos father shared an update.
Amani undergoes liver surgery
Amani, who has been “extremely sick this entire year,” has recently undergone a liver transplant. Dean Derrico, his uncle, asked followers for prayers while he had the procedure done, on June 12.
He shared a photo of his nephew asking “prayer warriors” to send their well wishes to the family, as they awaited him to get the procedure. The next day, he shared an update to fans to his Instagram Story.
One day later, on June 13, Dean Derrico revealed an update on Amani’s surgery. He is now “stable and resting,” with Dean thanking fans for sending their prayers to the family.
The Doubling Down With The Derricos star thankfully said his nephew’s surgery went well, sharing a photo with Amani and GG.
Amani joined TLC show in 2023
Deon received a call from Amani, who told him via voicemail that he may be his nephew. Weeks later, fans saw the discovery in Episode 3, We Didn’t Start the Fire.
“My name is Amani,” Amani said in the voicemail. “Your brother Chris could possibly be my dad.” Chris died unexpectedly on January 27, 2020. Deon later confirmed Amani is a Derrico and Chris’s son!
