Elzie Harrington, one of the top shooting guards on the West Coast, has committed to Harvard and head coach Tommy Amaker, he told On3.
In addition to the Crimson, the 6-foot-5 rising senior out of St. John Bosco (CA) also received offers from USC, UCLA, and Arizona State.
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Harrington is the No. 45 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. He’s also the No. 9 shooting guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“The simple answer is I believe in Tommy Amaker and he believes in me. His vision for me is crystal clear and ultimately going to Harvard it’s hard not to succeed. They were honest with me about what I do well as player and how I need to improve for the next level. On my visit, it felt very easy to connect with the whole staff and relationships were very big for me when picking a school.”
In his own words, what type of player is Harvard getting in Elzie Harrington?
“I’m a big guard who can play the 1 and the 2. I score at all three levels while playing at my own pace. I am also a very good passer and take pride in playing defense.”
Harrington has a message for Harvard fans.
“I’m coming here to change Ivy League basketball.”

“Elzie Harrington has a good frame with nice length and positional size. He is comfortable on the ball and able to get the ball to its spots in the half court. Listed in the 6-5 range, Harrington plays with a good pace, he rarely gets rushed. He finishes through contact at the rim and can knock down a spot three on ball reversals. Comfortable as a secondary ball handler. Harrington lack blow-by burst on the ball. He has upside as an off ball defender using positioning to cut down angles.
