Al Nassr make big decision about Liverpool’s Alisson as summer transfer window opens

Liverpool are in danger of losing some big players to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

The Reds already have a number of former players now plying their trade in the Middle East and more could soon follow.

From the great side of the Jurgen Klopp era, as many as four are now over in Saudi Arabia. Gini Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are all there. It has became a haven for modern day Liverpool legends.

And while rumours persist that Mohamed Salah could soon become the jewel in that crown, two more iconic Liverpool players are also in danger of leaving.

Already boasting Mane, PIF funded club Al Nassr have reportedly set their eyes on securing on of the Senegalese’s most notable former teammates.

Al Nassr set their signs on Alisson Becker

According to reports this week, Al Nassr are actually really trying hard to sign two of Mane’s Premier League title winning colleagues.

There have been suggestions that Virgil van Dijk has already met with Al Nassr and has a giant contract offer on the table.

And as well as Van Dijk, the Riyadh based club are also now said to be pushing to sign Alisson Becker as well.

After Al Nassr stalled on a move for Juventus ‘keeper Wojciech Szczesny, there were signs that a bid for Alisson was in the works.

And according to journalist Rudy Galetti, that could now be imminent. Taking to X on Thursday evening, the reporter said that although it’s ‘not easy,’ Cristiano Ronaldo’s team want to get Alisson.

“Al Nassr haven’t yet made a final decision on their new GK,” says Galetti.

“Szczesny is on the shortlist, but the top target – although not easy – is Allison [sic].

“The Saudi Arabian club is still evaluating the entire budget available for the next transfer session before making concrete moves.”

Liverpool braced for Alisson assault

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Alisson has already turned down approaches from the Saudi clubs this summer.

The Brazilian appears focused on being part of the new Arne Slot era at Anfield.

However, if Al Nassr are so intent on getting Ali, then Liverpool have to expect that another bid is coming down the line.

That will obviously be higher than the previous offer and perhaps it could be enough to tempt Alisson into leaving.

If that does happen, then Al Nassr are going to have to stump up one heck of a fee. Alisson is arguably Liverpool’s most important player and would surely cost more than the £67m they signed him for in 2018.

With money no object for the Pro League club, anxiety will remain over Liverpool’s No.1.
