'He'll be the first to show up'... Rich Eisen comments on Dallas Cowboys training camp

The Dallas Cowboys are on summer break but they have not put an end to their contract debacle, just a momentary pause.

CeeDee Lamb has been one of the headline players who has been holding out from the Dallas Cowboys’ offseason program.

The 25-year-old is entering the fifth-year option of his rookie deal and has produced a record-breaking season for a Cowboys wide receiver.

Fellow 2020 draftee Justin Jefferson has taken control of the market with a four-year contract worth up to $35 million APY.

This deal has made the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history and Lamb wants a piece of the action.

Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons have been training despite their contracts needing to be renewed

Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons are also pushing for new deals, but their situations vary.

Parsons has two years outstanding on his rookie contract but is eligible for a new deal which the Cowboys would be inclined to present.

Moreover, the defensive edge rusher has hinted he is happy to wait and bide his time knowing the price will continue to rise.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio suggested that the three-time All-Pro joins Lamb in a contract holdout.

On the other hand, Prescott has one year remaining, but like Parsons, he has been present at offseason training.

Dak Prescott is content with his situation and acknowledges the leverage he holds over the front office.

Jerry Jones now has a handful of weeks before preseason training to get some order to the ever-growing situation.

The players are expected to report to training camp on July 25 in Oxnard California.

Rich Eisen predicts that Dak Prescott will be the first to arrive in Oxnard California for preseason

NFL expert Rich Eisen spoke about the holdout potential and who he believes will show when the team is due.

“If I had to guess on that front, I think Micah checks in, I think Dak is the first to check in, I think Dak actually might stand behind the counter and check others in, I think he will be there in that respect,” he phosphorized on the Rich Eisen Show.

“CeeDee Lamb? I would have wondered about that one, that’s the one I would wonder about.”

Invited guest Albert Breer also questioned the situation saying: “If all this stuff (unresolved contracts) is still out there… how it affects the way that team is able to go through a full training camp will be really interesting to me.”

The two questioned who would turn up and the longer-lasting impact that the situation could have on the team.

CeeDee Lamb will remain distanced from the team as he continues to seek a new deal

Eisen predicts that Prescott will remain a happy camper and encourage the arrival of his teammates as they enter the crucial preseason window.

Furthermore, Parsons will continue attending but CeeDee Lamb will be a no-show once again.

If the front office can present the First-Team All-Pro with a competitive deal, Lamb would show up to Oxnard.

The presence of Lamb in California is in the hands of Jerry Jones, the wait goes on for an expected deal.
