Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) took to X on Friday to lavish praise on former President Donald Trump.

"Happy Birthday to President @realDonaldTrump!" wrote Graham. "Your golf game has never been stronger, and America needs you now more than ever. Your best present will come in November when the American people elect you as our next President and Commander in Chief."

Trump was marking his 78th birthday.

Commenters on social media promptly roasted the South Carolina senator for prostrating himself at Trump's feet — with many demanding to know if Graham had any self-respect left.

"Lindsey Graham edited his post to add 'President' to describe Trump," wrote the anti-Trump account Patriot Takes. "Got to keep the boss happy."

"Holy s--t Lindsey. Even Kim Jong Un is like, ‘dude, that’s too much,'" wrote political influencer @JoJoFromJerz.

"Renfield could not even fathom being this much of a bootlicking sycophant," wrote "Spiro's Ghost referring the Dracula's henchman. "Are you THAT afraid of him telling your willfully blind constituents that you are a massive closet case? Does he have pics of you with a leather gimp? You have *zero* dignity left."

"Good Job of presenting yourself as an idiot today, Lindsey," wrote @pjb1346. "Endorsing a rapist, tax fraud criminal, convicted criminal (felon) for election interference, thief who stole classified documents and insurrectionist fits your pathetic brain perfectly."

Graham is infamous for having opposed Trump prior to his election in 2016 and went on to become one of his most outspoken allies in the Senate. His junior colleague in South Carolina's Senate delegation, Tim Scott, is reportedly one of Trump's shortlisters for vice president.
