'Probably going': Leeds reportedly want to sign a player whose manager has already admitted he's set to leave

The manager of one of Leeds United’s newest transfer targets has already admitted he is likely to leave this summer.

Leeds are in the market for plenty of new reinforcements this summer as they look to build a side capable of sustaining a promotion push that can go one better next season.

Clubs can officially start conducting transfer business from today and Leeds have been linked with a number of players since the defeat to Southampton at Wembley last month.

However, Paraag Marathe has already admitted Leeds will need to sell some players this summer and ahead of the end of the financial year on June 30, they may have to come first.

That said, there are plenty of free agents and loan deals that could be on the market in which Leeds can be looking at in the meantime.

What Mark Robins said about Callum O’Hare’s future amid Leeds interest

Leeds made their first real decision of the summer transfer window at the beginning of the week with the news Brenden Aaronson would be returning.

The number 10 position was an area of weakness last season after the failure to sign Nadiem Amiri last summer, and Aaronson certainly looks as though he could help solve that.

However, he might not be the only attacking midfielder part of Leeds’ squad come August amid reports they have joined the race for Coventry City’s Callum O’Hare.

O’Hare is out of contract at the end of this month and looks set to be available on a free transfer, making him one of the Championship’s hottest properties right now.

And while there is still time for him to put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Coventry, Mark Robins’ comments after their final game of the season are a positive sign for Leeds.

Robins admitted to the Coventry Telegraph that he is expecting O’Hare to depart on a free despite his determination to keep him at the club.

He said: “Then there’s Callum O’Hare and I have just said in the dressing room, I’m not going to give up on you. But we started laughing and I know that he’s probably going to choose somewhere else to go.

“But he’s been incredible as well and I thought the supporters were outstanding with him, as they were all the players.”

Jack Grealish has already given his verdict on Leeds target O’Hare

Despite missing the first three months of the season through a serious knee injury, O’Hare still ended the season on nine goals in all competitions.

In just his second start back after completing his recovery, O’Hare scored both goals in a 2-0 victory over Birmingham City in December.

Someone he knows well from Aston Villa in Manchester City’s Jack Grealish was very impressed with what he saw that night, and it is fair to say he would be some coup for Leeds.

He said: “Well done son. Good to see you back after your injury. Class tonight.”
