The player in question is Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise, who has been going from strength to strength at Selhurst Park.

Although Chelsea are said to be pursuing Olise, The Guardian has shared an update which seemingly bodes well for Arsenal.

The report claims that ‘Chelsea contacted Palace to find out more about the clause this week’.

However, ‘doubts have emerged over whether Olise would favour a move there when there is also interest from Arsenal, Bayern, Newcastle and both Manchester clubs.’

Who is Arsenal target Michael Olise?

Olise, who was born in London, was with a number of top academies as a youngster (Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City) before linking up with Reading in 2017.

He rose through the ranks and broke into the Royals first-team squad in 2019 before earning himself a move to Palace in 2021, where he has become a star.

The 22-year-old has made 90 competitive appearances for the Eagles and has registered an impressive 16 goals and 25 assists.

Olise has also been capped seven times for France’s Under-21s, and surely it won’t be long before he’s in the senior squad picture.

The £60million-rated ace would be an outstanding option for Arsenal. He can score goals, provide assists, is a great dribbler and has a lot of experience in the Premier League too.

Arsenal may well fancy their chances of beating Chelsea to Olise’s signature, so let’s see what happens in the coming weeks.
