Now, a report has emerged claiming a midfielder linked with the Gunners could be available for as little as £13million.
The player in question is Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana. According to a report from L’Equipe which came out on May, the Gunners have been in talks with the player’s camp.
Alfredo Pedulla’s website has reported that the 25-year-old ‘can leave’ his club this summer as his contract enters its final 12 months.
The report also claims that Monaco have placed a €15million price tag on Fofana. This works out at around £13million.

Fofana, who is statistically one of the best passers in Europe, would be a solid acquisition for Arsenal.

On Planet Premier League, Fabregas was asked about what he would make of the idea of Fofana going to Manchester United.
He replied: “I played with him, funnily enough I never heard about Man United, I heard that he was going to AC Milan because [Paulo] Fonseca probably is going to go there, so let’s see where he goes.
“But a very dynamic, strong player, good on the ball, a modern type of player, aggressive, can jump, he’s box to box; I really like Fofana and I think he fits very well the Premier League style.”
For just £13million, Fofana would also be an absolute bargain for Arsenal. But other clubs will be mindful of this, so they’ll need to move fast if they want to win the race.
