Arsenal fans all saying the same thing about Jorginho after Italy beat Albania at Euro 2024

Many Arsenal fans have now shared their thoughts on Jorginho after he featured for Italy in their win over Albania on Saturday.

Plenty of Arsenal players will enjoy starring roles at Euro 2024.

There are eleven Arsenal stars currently representing their countries at Euro 2024. On the opening night of the tournament, Kai Havertz got on the scoresheet for the host nation Germany. Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney was on the other side of that 5-1 defeat.

Since then, David Raya has had to satisfy himself with a place on the bench as Spain beat Croatia, before the holders took on Albania with Jorginho in the middle of the park.

Despite being in the twilight years of his career, Jorginho remains a key player for his country. The 32-year-old has 55 caps to his name, and was instrumental for Italy as they got their defence of the trophy off to a solid start.

As per WhoScored statistics, he attempted 130 passes against Albania, more than any other player on the pitch, with an accuracy rating of 91.5%. This will come as no surprise to Mikel Arteta or Arsenal fans, who are all well aware of the composure and control that the veteran brings to the side.

Arteta has previously named Jorginho as the most intelligent player he has ever worked with, and his football IQ was on full display last night as he dictated the tempo of the match against Albania.

The importance of Jorginho at Arsenal

At this stage in his career, Jorginho can no longer start matches week in, week out. However, he still has a crucial role to play at the Emirates Stadium. When he does get on the pitch, he is reliable and assured, helping Arteta’s side to control matches.

The former Chelsea man is also a leader, and brings vital experience to the dressing room. Jorginho has also been something of a mentor for Declan Rice at Arsenal, and will help the England star to elevate his game even further.
