Over the last few weeks, Sanford (Fla.) Seminole four-star interior offensive lineman Max Buchanan has taken several official visits, and this past weekend, the coveted prospect was in Miami for his OV with the Hurricanes.
“It was good, I definitely got to see a lot of things I hadn’t seen before,” Buchanan said.
Thus far this summer, the 6-foot-4 prospect has taken trips to Ole Miss, Clemson, UCF, FSU, and now Miami. According to Buchanan, what stood out about his time in Coral Gables compared to the other programs that he has visited was, well, everything.
“It’s been awesome, it’s Miami, a completely different vibe from everywhere else,” Buchanan said. “Everywhere has gotten certain things that are similar, but at the end of the day it’s a lot different than everywhere else.”
During the visit, the No. 279 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, had the chance to sit down and speak with Hurricanes offensive line coach Alex Mirabal and head coach Mario Cristobal.
“(Coaches) said they want to coach me badly, love my intensity and they like how mean I am on the field,” Buchanan said. “They want me to come here and be a Hurricane.
Following his time in Coral Gables, Buchanan will head to Penn State for his final official visit to what was a busy summer. By the end of June, Buchanan will have taken six OVs, seen all of his top programs, and will then weigh the pros and cons of each school before coming to a final decision.
As for the impact of this visit?
“Definitely a big one, to be honest,” Buchanan said. “It had a big impact.”

You can tell from what he said above that Buchanan was absolutely blown away by his weekend at Miami, and he said he “definitely” felt a major connection to the program. So Miami’s put itself in position to land him and now just has to keep that momentum going.
