Euro 2024 star credits Arsenal boss Arteta with ‘very important’ role in England progress

One Euro 2024 star has now credited Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta with having had a huge influence on the England team.

Arsenal are represented by three players in the England squad.

Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Aaron Ramsdale are all included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad. Whilst Ramsdale is set to offer backup to first choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Rice and Saka are both expected to play major roles for the Three Lions throughout the tournament.

Saka is now set to start for England this evening when they get their Euro 2024 campaign underway against Serbia, having passed a fitness test ahead of the match. Rice will almost certainly be included in the starting XI too.

This Arsenal trio form part of an England squad that many have high hopes for, and certainly deserve to be counted amongst the favourites. For that reason, Mikel Arteta is one of the managers, beyond Southgate himself, who deserves some credit for the national team’s recent rise.

After all, the Spanish coach has played a key role in taking all of Ramsdale, Saka, and Rice to new levels. Ramsdale has seen his reputation significantly enhanced since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium, Saka has developed into a talismanic figure for the club, and Rice has flourished in a more advanced role.
